Whatever they are, strengths are current internal qualities that make a business more effective at what it does.
Questions to ask:
- What are the business’ strengths?
- How can they be used to reach the organization’s goals?
- What are the company’s greatest achievements?
Opportunities
Opportunities are the things that the company can benefit from soon or in the near future. They could be new products or services that haven't been released yet but could be soon. Or maybe there's a possibility to expand into another market or demographic. Opportunities are existing external factors that can help a business grow.
Questions to ask:
- What opportunities are available?
- How can an organization take advantage of them?
- Does the company need additional resources to use these?
Aspirations
Aspirations are goals that a company sets for itself. They're not necessarily related to growth or profits. A business might also have aspirations for how they want their customers to feel about their products and services. These are future internal objectives that the given company wants to achieve.
Questions to ask:
- What does this organization want to become?
- What does the company care about?
- What strategy should they follow to achieve that?
Results
Results are what happens when all of the above factors come together. They’re measured in different ways depending on the industry, manufacturer, goal, etc. These are considered eventual external outcomes that the company will receive.
Questions to ask:
- What results do these factors produce?
- How can they help a business achieve its goals?
- When will it know that it has achieved these goals?
